Business Mentor and Coach

Business owners appreciate Gene’s perspective as a CPA, business owner, adviser and business mentor in helping them to reach their dreams.

Gene started his business life selling newspapers and Christmas cards at the age of 10. When he and his sister attended college, he was the sole support of himself and his family, while running the family business selling merchandise on credit house to house. His whole business career of more than 40 years includes public accounting, first with PWC, then with several local firms before opening his own CPA business.

Having run several businesses throughout his career, Gene understands the challenges and stresses that all business owners face. As a business mentor, many times he has said he would like to help reduce the 80% failure rate of business by 20% – a major feat that Grow Your Business Group LLC, a business coaching firm, is devoted to accomplishing.

Having been recognized by Marquis Who’s Who in Industry and Finance, Who’s Who in America and Who’s Who in the East, Gene has also been cited as a distinguished speaker by the Massachusetts Society of CPAs, Ambassador of the Year Metro West Chamber of Commerce, and an active member of the community for many years. He is also a past chairman of the Newton Needham Chamber of Commerce.

40 years of experience as a businessman and observing numerous businesses have caused Gene to conclude that many businesses are started by the chef, plumber, contractor, engineer, accountant, candlestick maker etc. who know how to deliver a product and or/service but don’t know how to run a business (yes there is a difference – a big difference). The high failure rate in business is often the outcome. The result is the formation of Grow Your Business Group LLC. Our mission is to “Conceive, Believe, Achieve your business dreams with Grow Your Business Group”.

***80% fail within the first five years of business; many of those who do survive struggle for many more years, wreaking havoc with their personal lives and ambitions.
